This screen gives you the results of your search. You can sort the results by clicking on the underlined column heads if you wish. To view a record, click on the link in the Inv # column.
The meaning of the various columns is given below:
First column (color): Indicates the type of record.
Some records will not appear until you click on the "More" button where appropriate.
"In District" or "District" indicates that the record is either a historic or survey district, or is a resource contained in one. Click the button to view a list of related records.
"More" indicates that there are additional records associated with this resource. Click the button to see associated National Register, DOE, and/or Easement records.
The PDF icon indicates that the record has a scanned PDF file associated with it. This PDF file will contain the MIHP form(s) if any, any other associated forms, photographs, and other documentation. You can click on the PDF icon to open the scanned PDF directly (you can also click on the link to the database record in the Inv. # column and open the PDF file from that screen). If there is no PDF icon (a large black X will appear in this column), then that record is not associated with a scanned PDF file.
If you click on a PDF icon on the Search Results screen and the file does not seem to open, you may have to disable the pop-up blocker in your browser for this site. This can normally be done on the browser's address or information bar; you can also search "how to disable pop up blocker for a specific site" in Google for instructions.
You may export this list as a CSV or HTML file. A CSV (comma-separated variable) file will normally open in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. A HTML file, when clicked, will open in your browser, and can then be viewed and/or printed.
When you click on the appropriate button, the file will be automatically downloaded to your computer (your browser may ask you for confirmation that you want to do this). The file can then be opened and/or copied to a thumb drive or other portable storage.
Enter your search criteria into one or more of the fields here. You may enter all or part of your criteria. If you do not find what you are looking for, try again using slightly different criteria; for example, if you are trying to find what you think is "St. Stephen's Church," but you do not know whether it is spelled "Stephen's" or "Stephens," try just searching for "Stephen" in the Property Name field.
You can refine or narrow the search criteria by choosing an option in the second box.
Note: If you are searching for Archaeology records, and do not see a tab for "Archaeology," please click on the "Log In" link in the upper right.
Select county from the dropdown list.
Select USGS quad from the dropdown list. If a county is selected, this list will be filtered to show only those quads associated with that county.
MIHP inventory number. You may enter all or part of the number.
Enter all or part of the property name. This search will include both the "preferred" names and alternate names. If you are not sure of the spelling and/or abbreviation, try entering just a portion of the name to get a more complete list.
Enter all or part of the street addresses. Entries in the MIHP are generally in the form "100 S. Oak St.," not "100 South Oak Street." Again, if you do not find a match, try a more general search like "Oak."
Enter all or part of the city or town.
Select a district from the dropdown list.
Use this section to narrow your search.
