Terms and Conditions

The Requester acknowledges he or she understands that archaeological site location data shall not be disclosed by the Requester or his or her proxies through publications or otherwise, including but not limited to presentations, interviews, social media, and electronic formats, to any group or individual who is not a professional archaeologist, without the express consent of the MHT. The Requester further acknowledges that archaeological site location data is to be used only for research or compliance purposes, and may only be reproduced for MHT or other appropriate review agencies. A copy of any report or publication that uses this data will be deposited with the MHT Librarian, and will credit the Maryland Historical Trust.

ยง 4-350 of the General Provisions Article of the Maryland Annotated Code (the "Public Information Act") controls the inspection of public records that contain information concerning the site-specific location of a historic property, including a district, site, building, structure, monument, or object significant to the prehistory or history of the State; or the upland and underwater archaeology, architecture, engineering, or culture of the State, and related artifacts, records, and remains. A person who violates any provision of the Public Information Act is guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction, is subject to a fine. MHT is not liable with respect to any claims for damages to property arising from Requestor or Proxy's use of the data contained in the Medusa Cultural Resource Information System, or activities carried out on sites identified in the System. Requestor agrees to indemnify and hold MHT harmless from any liabilities, suits, actions, claims, demands, losses, expenses, and costs of every kind and nature incurred by, or asserted or imposed against MHT as a result of or in connection with Requestor or Proxy's use of the data contained in the System.

This account can be terminated at any time by MHT for non-compliance with these Terms. Activation of an account to use the Medusa Cultural Resource Information System neither signifies nor implies any official approval or certification of the qualifications of the Requester and/or proxy.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the Requestor certifies that all the information entered into this account request form is true and accurate.
